A great ad from March 1978. The is the Journey "Infinity" ad which features cut-outs of the band on an airplane.
The added bonus is the "meeting in person" at Sam Goody Record Stores and the mention of the Live Show at the New York Palladium on March 25th 1978.
It's a great black and white ad but I'm not sure exactly what magazine this came out of.
This is the first timeI've seen print using the term "new Journey"...

The band took a noticeable different direction in 1981 with the release of "Escape"

Trial By Fire was Journey's 10th Studio Album and first album after a nearly 10 year hiatus by the band.

Part 4 of the Departure Tour Book from 1980
Here is the next five pages of the Departure Tour Book.
We start with an article titled "The Story Of Journey" which tells the story through 1979's "Evolution". The band has the same line-up and therefore used the same pages from the 1979 Tour Book.
The next three pages are black and white pictures of the band members including Gregg Rolie. This was Gregg's last tour with Journey.
This was the tour that was recorded for 1981's "Captured" album.

Journey Ads from The Departure Tour 1980
After the Departure Tour in 1980 ended, Billboard Magazine put out a special edition of ads thanking Journey for the great Tour.
The Departure Tour was Journey's biggest tour to date, covering almost 100 dates between the dates of March 28, and October 13, 1980.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEAL SCHON of JOURNEY!
Neal George Joseph Schon was born in Oklahoma on February 27, 1954. He turns 61 today.
At age 5, Neal began playing the guitar. Ten years later he was playing with Carlos Santana.
Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie along with Walter "Herbie Herbert formed the band "Journey" in 1973
Neal and Michaele were married on December 15, 2013 at 8:00 PM.

Happy Birthday Jonathan Cain of Journey!
Jonathan Cain turns 63 years old today. He was born Jonathan Leonard Friga in Chicago, Illinois on February 26th 1952.
The Baby's brought Jonathan into the group in 1979 and appeared on their next two Studio albums as well as all the "Greatest Hits" albums.
