Jelly Roll Sweetie

 Journey's "Homemade Love" is talked about in this mini-Interview / Music Video. Steve Perry and Gregg Rolie of Journey were guests on Jim Ladd's "Innerview" series in 1980. Steve and Gregg explain the meaning of the lyrics,  "Jelly Roll Sweetie" from the song "Homemade Love".

I decided that a Journey Channel is just going to have to have some Journey music, it doesn't make sense otherwise. This video also includes a Music Video of "Homemade Love" which is an excerpt of Journey live at Nakano Sun-plaza In Tokyo, Japan on 10-13-1980.

JOURNEY "Revelation" Italian Press Release from Frontiers Records

On June 6th, 2005, Journey released their first album with brand new singer, Arnel Pineda.

Billed as Melodic Rock, Journey's "Revelation" hit the streets on June 6th, 2008. This featured a new lineup. Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, Dean Castronovo, and introducing Arnel Pineda as the new Lead Singer for the band.

No more letting everyone have a chance at vocals, Arnel takes on all the vocals on the album. The album also includes eleven of Journey's top hits rerecorded with Arnel's voice. Had they left it alone there, it would have been fine. The only bad thing in a really excellent album package is that the instrumentations are different, they should have used the old version and replaced only Steve Perry's voice. The album also came with a DVD of Journey playing live in Santiago, Chile 2008.

JOURNEY "Generations" Italian Press Release from Frontiers Records

On August 29th, 2005, Journey released their second full album with Steve Augeri on Vocals.

Billed as Melodic Rock, Journey's "Generation" hit the streets on August 29th, 2005. This featured the same lineup as Journey's 2001 album, "Arrival" and 2002's "Red 13". Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, Dean Castronovo, and Steve Augeri make up the band.

2005 also marked the 30th Anniversary of JOURNEY. The band celebrated by giving at least one song top each member. Of course Steve Augeri sing the most number of them.

On October 30, 2002, Journey released their first record without Columbia Records, "Red 13".

Billed as Melodic Rock, Journey's "Red 13" hit the streets on October 13th. This featured the same lineup as Journey's 2001 album, "Arrival". with Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, Dean Castronovo, and Steve Augeri on Vocals.

Journey's Official Business Statement from the San Mateo Times April, 1974

Here's a real treat! This is the original ad in the San Mateo Times from April 1974. This shows George Tickner seems to be the one that filed the business license for "Journey" back in 1974.

Only four original members of Journey are listed on the license, George Tickner, Neal Schon, Ross Valory, and Gregg Rolie. They must have been the period between Prairie Prince and Aynsley Dunbar as drummer. San Mateo is a small city in Northern California somewhat near San Francisco.

Happy New Year 2017 Journey fans!

Another year has passed. Both Journeys and Steve Perry were heavily active this year.

Steve Perry may or may not release an album this year! It was promised in 2016, but Steve being the perfectionist he is, has taken a bit longer than anticipated.

Although there has been no sign of another album from Journey, we can still hope...

Journey will be starting the 2017 Tour in Las Vegas at The Hard Rock Cafe this May. What will be very interesting is hearing two excellent albums back to back which would include songs they have never played in concert before!

Steve Perry For The Love Of Strange Medicine Tour 1994-1995 Picture Book, part 8

This week concludes the Steve Perry "For The Love Of Strange Medicine" Tour Book. A great Concert Program even though there wasn't much more than a bunch of pictures of Steve Perry. Steve Perry and his band didn't have any kind of a history. What it was though was a way to hear Steve Perry sing Journey songs live again!

For The Love Of Strange Medicine kept Steve busy from 1993-1995 while it looked for sure like the Journey was really over. All other members of Journey kept active during this time, yet they didn't have the voice that could only be heard at this show!

The last page of the Tour Book is an advertisement for Steve Perry's second solo album, "For The Love Of Strange Medicine" for without it, there would be no tour or this excellent Concert Program. The album ended up spawning two singles, "You Better Wait", and "Missing You" from the eleven songs on the original album.

The tour to promote the album lasted a full six months before ending in early 1995. By the end on 1995 Steve was already working again with Journey on a new reunion album called "Trial By Fire" that was released in October 1996.

The back cover of the Tour Book is a giant "Steve Perry" logo. It's a beautiful white lettering with the Strange Medicine design behind it in red, all with a deep rick black background. As of this date, there is rumor of a third Steve Perry solo album to be released in 2017 after many years of delay.

Another regret I have is never seeing this show. I have no idea why I missed this. I was a huge Steve Perry fan as I always have since 1980. I was upset at the whole "Raised On Radio" fiasco and the end of Journey, but I would have wanted to go I think. I was making enough money at the time, this was the 1990's when the Motion Picture Industry was still a great industry. Maybe I was just too busy working overtime, we may never know why...

Don't Stop Believing: A Romantic, Upbeat, Musical Journey;

This story is based on a musical I wrote many years ago, featuring twenty of Journey's best-loved hits. I had a week in hospital, recovering from an operation - what else was I gonna do? I wrote it originally with all songs taken from the Steve Perry heydays - from Escape, Frontiers and Raised On Radio. I spoke to Jon Cain after the Newcastle gig in 2008 and he suggested I could put some new songs in. So I re-wrote it with songs from Arrival and Revelations. It's kinda sat on the back burner since then, but I've thought about doing something like this many times.

He and Kathy fight to stay together, but events conspire to break them apart as they interact with colourful characters drawn to the Fringe.

In this rock-music-inspired tale, three love stories intertwine as each player is forced to take stock of their lives and discover what is truly important.

Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry's mom mentions her crush on Steve Perry

Steve Perry was Journey's lead singer from 1978 to 1997. He has been sorely missed ever since. Everywhere he shows up, he causes a frenzy. Whether he goes to a baseball game, or a coffee shop, when he's in public, he is almost always noticed and surrounded by fans. This is 20 years after leaving the band.

Teenage girls are still infatuated with him and post his pictures whenever they can. His name and face shows up in some of the greatest places. He once showed up on the couch in my office at work, really. He was very nice and he's always very gracious when he meets the fans.

He is mentioned in movies, TV shows, radio, and even in cartoons. I found him even mentioned on E!'s "Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry". It seems Tyler's mother is still in love with Steve Perry. That's the one person she would really like to meet. She even wants Tyler to do a "reading" on Steve Perry.

The Journey Force says Merry Christmas from Westwood One

August seems like a strange time to be saying Merry Christmas. It's actually not too far away.

This Post Card was sent out to all Journey Force Members for Christmas 1983 from Westwood One. Apparently Westwood One used the Journey Force Mailing List for this. The Card lists all the bands that Westwood One had worked with, Journey being one of them.

Westwood One is a company that producesd many interviews and concert radio shows of Journey between 1976 - 2011. I have many of these hosted by Mary Turner and Uncle Joe Benson including "Off The Record with Mary Turner or Joe Benson". They also produced a show called "Randy Jackson's Hit List and The Dr. Demento Show.

Journey 1983 Frontiers Tour Book - Making and Breaking Records

The last three pages of the Frontiers Tour Book starts with a double page thanking the road crew on one side and Journey's biggest albums artwork on the other.

JOURNEY Making and Breaking Records;

The Frontiers Tour was a huge success. Until this point Journey had been working hard touring and making albums that they decided to take a break after the tour.

This is the first time that the band had ever stopped after a tour, they usually would go right back into Studio to record another album.

We take a moment to reflect on where we've been and where we came from. What started as a little jazz fusion band in 1973 had become the biggest Rock and Roll Band in America!

A great ad from March 1978. The is the Journey "Infinity" ad which features cut-outs of the band on an airplane.

The added bonus is the "meeting in person" at Sam Goody Record Stores and the mention of the Live Show at the New York Palladium on March 25th 1978.

It's a great black and white ad but I'm not sure exactly what magazine this came out of.

This is the first timeI've seen print using the term "new Journey"...
