 Season 2 of Wheel In The Sky has begun!

Episode 1 of Season 2 is now playing at the YouTube Channel, Wheel In The Sky;

Welcome to the first episode of Season 2 of Wheel In The Sky.

This episode is all about the 2001 album, Arrival. This is the first album since Steve Perry and Steve Smith left the band. The new vocalist, Steve Augeri does a fantastic job and here is the Wheel In The Sky Review of the album that has more than one version.

I'll review the album and then review each song individually. You'll see all of the different album artwork as well as the artwork for the three singles from the album.

Released in 2000 in Japan. Released in 2001 in the USA. This was the last Studio Journey album released from Columbia Records.

Watch and enjoy the fracturing of the stone we all call "Journey".
This album is much better than it has been given credit for.

 Journey's Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon on Innerview

Hosted by Jim Ladd

COMING THURSDAY AUGUST 22, 2024

Thursday, July 11, 2024

 This week's Journey video is delayed;

I am working on the Jim Ladd Innerview of Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon in 1978. This involves a lot of editing and searching for pictures from 1978 which there are very few without the whole band. I'm working hard but not fast enough. This may take another 2 weeks or so I'm hoping to have it done this month, July 2024. Until then;

JOURNEY On!

JOURNEY in Las Vegas with Orchestra on July 23, 2022

This is the entire Concert Road Trip Experience. On July 23, 2022 Journey played at Resorts World in Las Vegas, Nevada. I drove there from Los Angeles heading out on the 14 to the 15. The drive is about 4.5 hours. This video is for anyone who couldn't make it to the Concert! You see the drive through California to Las Vegas, Nevada. The arrival to Las Vegas. You'll see the merchandise booth, a quick run to the seats, back up for Beer and Shirts and then the Concert begins! I'll give my wrap-up of what I thought of the Concert at the end of the video. Sit down, relax and enjoy the experience!

There are 3 early Journey jams snuck into this video including one called "Something About You" which is sung by Steve Perry!

Journey at the Los Angeles Forum 1983

 Journey played at the Los Angles Forum for 5 days in 1983! It was August 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th!

Sold Out all 5 days!!

I share my T-shirt from the event with you now...

I went to the concert for all five days. I always thought it was 5 nights in a row, but this shows that there was a break on August 8th. This was the last time that I saw Steve Perry in concert. (The next time was in person, but that's for another day). I took 5 different friends to the concert. This concert was a huge deal in 1983. I did have some trouble finding people to go with me as my friends were all into new wave, certainly not Journey. Then everyone wanted to go once they played the first night. I was turning people away by the last night.

Here's a copy of my tickets for the first night. $15.00 was a lot of money in 1983, especially for a 20 year old.

Journey at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California, April 5, 2022

Journey will be playing at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California on April 5 and I will be there!

It's not called the Staples Center anymore apparently. It's called the Crypoto.com Arena. I'm still going to call it The Staples Center because it sounds better.

The line-up is;

Neal Schon - Guitars
Jonathan Cain - Keyboards
Arnel Pineda - Lead Vocals
Deen Castronovo - Drums
Todd Jensen - Bass
Jason Derlatka - 2nd Keyboards and Vocals

I'm also excited to see their little dog, Toto, too!

Journey on CBS 2 On The Town in 1982

Journey's appearance on the local CBS station's "2 On The Town" included Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain

Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain did an interview segment on a Television News Magazine Program in 1982. Melody Rogers hosted the show and showed off Neal's new car. This was an excellent piece that gives out some unknown information about the plans of the band at the time. Escape was a catastrophic album that was destined for outer space. Neal Shows off his car and talks about his Guitar collection, Jonathan Cain talks about what it's like to be the newest member of the band and what it was like for him moving to San Francisco. This is a lost gem from the local Los Angeles CBS station, KNXT called "2 On The Town" and was hosted by Melody Rogers.
