Castles Burning, The Herbie Herbert Interview with Matthew Carty 2001

In 2001 Matt Carty interviewed Walter J. (Herbie) Herbert, Journey's Manager from 1973-1993.

Herbie Herbert was the mastermind behind it all. He got Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie, and Ross Valory together to create a band that would catapult into superstardom and fizzle out in a flash. He came up with the album names and artwork.

This is the very hard to find interview from 2001 called "Castles Burning". He tells it like he saw it, and felt it.

  2. Stupid stupid interview. No wonder Steve doesn't respond. He gave WILLING 10 years of his life for that band and that ignorant so and so and he has the NERVE to say the hip injury is a trumped up story. Ok Herbie sure...find me the false medical record number and medical records and surgical report. This is the biggest amount of bunk I have ever heard.

    1. This is exactly what Herbie was saying though. He says show him the evidence that there was an injury, that there was a surgery. You can't prove a negative.

  3. True, but even the people Steve worked with say...yes HH he did have surgery. And Steve was in the hospital giving a freaking interview. HOWEVER, there is a fantastic FB page called The Tails of Steve Perry that did a BRAND NEW HH interview. He...wasn't bad and not nearly as caustic.
