Journey Force Newsletter from January 1, 1985 part 2 of 3

To keep the excitement going, this weeks fan club newsletter starts off with picture from a "Night Ranger" party and Steve Smith's Vital Information. Gregg Rolie's next project is also talked about.

The Rockdogs softball team is mentioned in a great article about the winner of "Steve Smith's Vital Information Giveaway".

The usual merchandise pages follow. There is some very interesting items available that I wish I had gotten at the time, like the Satin Jacket. I do have the hat.

The "Questions Answered" section is where we leave off. Some good questions about the "Captured" album, Neal Schon and Steve Smith!

More next week...

Journey Force (Fan Club) Newsletter September 1, 1984, part 1 of 2

At this point the Journey Force Newsletter talked about solo projects more than the band itself, because there really was no band at this time.

Solo projects were taking over. Steve Smith was beginning his third album with Vital Information, Steve Perry riding high on the success of hid first solo album, Street Talk, and Neal Schon is busy playing Guitar in England, working with John Entwistle, the bassist from The Who.

Gregg Rolie is mentioned in this edition for his first solo album and for playing in the Rockdogs Softball Game.

This edition also includes more Task Force instructions. The whole Task Force idea never really worked, but here's some great nostalgia while trying to work it out.

We end this week on the first half of the merchandise page, and remember non of these items can be ordered now.

In early 1981, Journey was still using a logo from the album "Departure" as seen in this photo of Neal and Jay at a Rhinos Softball game...

After "Escape" became huge success and hit #1 the logo changed to the one used on the album "Escape" only tilting it so it is readable as shown in this 8X10 of the band...

Here's the August 1983 Journey Force Newsletter;

This one starts off talking about the Journey "Rockdogs" which was the name of the Softball team Journey were members of.

Some new cities were added to the "Frontiers" tour with special tickets for Journey Force members.

Also the campaign for trying to nominate Journey for a Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star goes on. The newsletters have been talking about a star on Hollywood Blvd. since early 1983 and the star was finally received in July 2005, twenty two years later!

Ross Valory's 1983 biography is featured on a whole page! Ross was around from the beginning, so him and Neal are the only founding members left and a very important member of the band.
